Please encourage your student to finish strong this month. Recently, we have had a number of students
plagiarize and or copy entire sections off of the internet or off another
students’ work and turn it in as their own.
While the immediate consequence for academic dishonesty is a suspension
and re-doing the required work, the long-term consequence is students don’t
learn the content or class material and that will come back to haunt him or her
later on a test as teachers spiral student learning – in other words, each week
they continuously build upon what was taught in previous weeks. Please help us to remind students that it
doesn’t pay to take a short cut or easy way out and turn in work that is copied
word for word or cut and pasted from someone else’s assignment.
